D6 Blizzard

Division 6 (D6) is the Friday night league and home to the original Blizzard team. Though Sky Rink describes D6 as a division "for hockey players who are still new to the game and need to improve on the basic skills of puck handling, skating, and passing & shooting while participating in a team play atmosphere."

In reality, D6 is a competitive playing environment with a wide-range of skill levels, from relative newcomers to players with a tremendous amount of playing experience. Players who are new to the game or in need of extensive work in specific skill areas often find D6 play frustrating, as its pace and competitiveness may not allow for in-game development of such skills.

The D6 seasons (Fall and Spring) consist of 17 regular-season games in a 12 team division. The top 8 teams qualify for the playoffs. Playoff rounds are single elimination during the quarterfinals and semifinals; the division championship is a best 2 out of 3 games format.

D7 Blizzard

Division 7 (D7) is the Saturday night league and home to the newest Blizzard team. Though designed as a learning environment for beginning players, D7 is actually a much closer fit to the official D6 description; it's an appropriate environment that allows for more individual skill development, while still maintaining a competitive atmosphere between teams.

Beginning with the Spring 2003 season, D7 shifts to a full 17-game regular season in the 8 team division. The top 4 teams qualify for the playoffs.
