Richitelli publicly aired his suggestion, veiled as a question, that the
New York Rangers
might improve their scoring by altogether changing the game of hockey. Appearing electronically on "Future Blue", a programme on the
MSG network designed to fill in some of the empty space that used to contain
NHL hockey games, Richitelli implied that the Rangers brass might work to pass rule changes such as:
ð requiring Rangers opponents to defend larger goals
ð forcing opposing goalies to use smaller pads
ð forcing opposing
goalies to use no pads at all
ð giving the Rangers an automatic 2-goal lead at the start
ð making all Rangers opponents wear rental skates
and many others...
