Sports Anchor, FOX 5
News - John began his broadcasting career in 1995 at ACTV in Arlington, Massachusetts. He anchored a high school football show called
"SportsLine." His responsibilities included writing, editing and shooting his own stories. After one season, he was ready to move on.
He has worked in Westchester, Albany and Dallas, Texas at the FOX station there. After two and one-half years in Dallas, John had the chance to
come back to where his career began. In January 2002, he was hired as the main sports anchor here at WNYW-FOX 5 in New York. You can see him
weeknights on FOX 5 News at 10pm and Sports Extra every Sunday night at 10:30.
Throughout his career, John has been dedicated to covering sports and giving viewers the chance to form their own opinions. His approach is simple:
he presents sports in a fun and entertaining way without insulting the viewer's intelligence.
John is a native of Boston, Massachusetts and graduated from Hofstra University in 1994 with a B.A. in communication arts. While at school, he was
a Division I-AA football player as a kicker and punter for the Pride. He was also involved with HTV (Hofstra Television) and was the sports director
for 88.7 FM WRHU, Hofstra's radio station, doing play-by-play for Hofstra athletics. |
